We used all sorts of materials for these, all in shades of pink, purple & orange – tissue paper, scrap collage paper pieces, twine, ribbon, crinkle paper, oil pastel, tempera paint & watercolor. We created these on heavy weight canvas panels – the kids started by coloring with oil pastel, then we gave them different colors of tempera paint mixed with glue and all of their collage materials, and just instructed them to layer layer layer. We had previous cut some little hearts out of scrap painted paper, and we also had some little wood hearts. You can pretty much just load it up with whatever you can find and then splash it with a lot of glitter. Have fun!
