Description:
Variety is the spice of life, so our summer camps are planned and organized much like our six week classes! Rather than spending a week “under the sea” or creating mythical creatures, we’ll inspire kids by exposing them to a creative mix of projects with varying art mediums, styles, ideas and techniques. Through hands-on exploration, children will learn the basic elements of art such as shape, line, color, texture, form, space and value, as well as pattern & rhythm. Many of our projects expose children to famous artists & artistic movements throughout history. At the heart of everything we do, each child’s unique creative “vision” and self-expression is valued and nurtured.
Art Camp expands on our established mixed media classes offered during the rest of the year. In the summer, children will have more studio time to explore painting, drawing, 3D sculpture from clay, dough, wood & recycled materials, collage, assemblages & printmaking. We’ll also work on lengthier, more complex projects such as handmade paper making, marbling, book making, plaster and papier mache projects. During camp, children will have plenty of opportunity to work independently as well as to collaborate on fun group projects!
