This is a happy place

  • A Little History

Small Hands Big Art has been delighting kids at our original South Charlotte studio since 2009.  We've worked hard to build a solid reputation and a successful business model around a fine-art inspired curriculum infused with a modern, contemporary spin.

In early 2018, a casual coffee date with an artsy mom of two long-time students turned from chatting about our fav Bravo shows into a deep dive about entrepreneurship, work-life balance, and following your dreams.

Fast forward to December, 2018, the Small Hands Big Art Fort Mill, South Carolina studio went from fantasy to reality!

We have loved watching owners, Jen & Morris Lumpkin + their girls  experience all the joys & rewards come from pouring their hearts + souls into their Fort Mill studio!  We're so excited for all the generations of kids who will make paint-splattered memories over the years in this beautiful space, and whose lives will be immeasurably enriched!

From the Lumpkins

Hello! We are Jen & Morris Lumpkin! Morris is mostly behind the scenes and Jen is at the door greeting you with a big smile and a hug! We have lived in Fort Mill, SC for over 20 years years and love this community! It is where we have met our best friends, watched our girls grow, and taste-tested all of the nachos. We have two teenage girls, Harper and Drew, two dogs Penny & Leo. Prior to opening our Small Hands Big Art studio, I spent six years teaching preschool. I'm overjoyed to bring my love of kids and creating to all of you! When we aren't at the studio, you can find us all on a family adventure... probably to Disney for the 20th+ time!
