Katie’s infectious energy has been lighting up Small Hands Big Art since 2012. With a fine art background, a gift for curriculum design, and a deep love for creative education, she has helped shape the studio into a vibrant, welcoming space where artists of all ages can learn, grow, and thrive.

In 2026, Katie and her husband Nick proudly became owners of the flagship Waverly studio, marking a meaningful full-circle moment after more than a decade spent helping build the programs, culture, and community that make Small Hands Big Art so special.

Katie is passionate about creating an environment where students feel empowered to take creative risks, explore new ideas, and develop confidence in themselves as makers. Whether she’s working with toddlers, teens, adults, or fellow educators, her enthusiasm and encouragement help transform art experiences into lasting memories.

Together, Katie and Nick are committed to carrying forward the heart of Small Hands Big Art while continuing to grow and evolve the studio for future generations of young artists and their families.

When she’s not at the studio, Katie enjoys spending time with Nick and their two children, hiking local trails, cheering on Charlotte FC, and getting lost in a good book.
