Charlotte Summer Camp Schedule

Summer Camp Enrollment Now Open!

Half and Full Day Options!

We offer half day Mixed Media and Pottery Camps in South Charlotte at The Fountains shopping center.  We also offer a FULL DAY 9am-4pm Pottery + Mixed Media Combo Camp!

For our friends in Myers Park & Dilworth, we have offsite afternoon camps for our Dilworth + Myers Park friends at the Myers Park Presbyterian Wellness Center (see below for details).

If you’re registered online for a 6 week class session since Jan. 1, 2019 you’ve established an account with our new Parent Portal and you can go directly to the Portal to enroll (note that Summer Camps are categorized under Classes in the Portal, not Events).

If we haven’t seen your smiling face since 2018, click on the Enroll link next to the camp week to establish a Portal account.

HOW TO ENROLL

We have a fancy new enrollment system!  Returning families who have enrolled online in a 6 week class since Jan. 1, 2019 already have a Parent Portal account and may go there to enroll.

Families who don’t have a Portal Account yet:  Scroll down to select the week of camp and click the Enroll link on the left.  You’ll be prompted to create a Customer Account and can then enroll your child(ren) into your camps of choice.

If the Enroll link is unavailable, the camp is full; contact us to be wait listed!

DEPOSIT + TUITION

A non-refundable deposit of $100 / child, per week of camp, is due at the time of enrollment in order to reserve your spot(s).

If your schedule is not firmed up yet, enroll in the weeks you think will work, and there is wiggle room to accommodate changes if they are made in writing at least seven days prior to the start of camp, space permitting (see CHANGES / CANCELLATIONS).

The full balance (less your deposit) is due no later than the first day of camp. We will send you an email reminder the week before camp.

CHANGES / CANCELLATIONS

If you’ve already paid for the session and need to cancel, your payment (less the non-refundable deposit) will be refunded if we are notified in writing via email seven days prior to the start of camp (info@smallhandsbigart.com).

There are no refunds for last minute cancellations; however, we’re happy to consider any special circumstances and offer a studio credit at our discretion.

Change requests must be submitted at least seven days prior to the start of camp. We’ll do our best to accommodate your request, space permitting.

( Scroll down for half day Pottery Camps, Full Day Pottery + Mixed Media combo camps, and offsite camps in MYERS PARK )

All weeks are Mixed Media, Ages 4 – 14 and take place Monday – Friday except the weeks noted below for special themes that caught our fancy this year!   Mixed Media includes painting, drawing, sculpture, collage, printmaking, & more!  $235 / child, 10% sibling discount.

Our Mixed Age camps are a great fit for most and enable siblings in different age groups to be in the same camp and have fun creating together!  If we have two distinctly older and younger groups of kids in a camp session, they are segregated by age (if they choose).  Everyone may be working with the same medium (such as watercolor) but we may modify the project to be age appropriate.

Making It Camp, June 24 – 28, ages 11-15; 1-4pm.   Calling all 11-15 year old artists, creatives, and profesh DIYers! Get ready for a wild week of “Making It” design challenges (in honor of our fave crafty TV show)! In this week of summer camp you’ll take on projects for your room, accessories for school, & pinterest + instagram worthy art challenges. We’ll wow you with innovative materials & fun challenge inspiration as you create and craft to your hearts content. Bring your inventive spirit, your eye for trendy design and your crafty crew of friends!

Woodland Camp, June 17 – 21, ages 4 – 14; 9am-12pm.  A special week for our artsy nature lovers (like us!!)! In this whimsical week of camp, your artist will embark on a creative adventure using whimsical & earthy materials. We’ll embrace nature through up-cycling and repurposing, building miniature enchanted shelters and learning to paint and sculpt woodland creatures and our favorite forest friends.

HALF DAY DAY Pottery is weekly M-F, starting the week of June 17 through August 12th, 9am-4pm.  Pottery Camp is held a hop, skip & a jump away from our main studio in the Fountains Shopping Center (in the former Funkytown space, 8155 Ardrey Kell Rd).  $235 / child, 10% sibling discount.

FULL DAY Pottery + Mixed Media Combo - Select Week and Time:

( Scroll up for half day Pottery Camps)

FULL DAY Pottery + Mixed Media camps are available M-F, starting the week of June 17 through August 12th, 9am-4pm.

This combination makes for the perfect full day of creativity ~ Pottery camp is all clay, and Mixed Media camp is everything except clay (painting, drawing, collage, chalk pastel, etc.).   Our Mixed Media camp is held at our main studio in the Fountains Shopping Center (8025 Ardrey Kell Rd.) and Pottery Camp is held a hop, skip & a jump through the breezeway at 8155 Ardrey Kell Rd.  Lunch time child care is provided and students walk through the breezeway from one location to the other with our staff.

$425 / child, 10% sibling discount.  Tuition includes lunch time child care (send a morning + afternoon snack, and a lunch).

We do not offer a full day Pottery only camp or full day Mixed Media only camp, because in our experience a full day of only one or the other just isn’t enough variety and kids would burn out on it!

MYERS PARK CAMPS - Select Week and Time:

Our offsite camps in Myers Park take place in the afternoons from 1-4pm at the Myers Park Presbyterian Wellness Center,1073 Providence Rd., Charlotte, NC 28207.

All weeks are Mixed Media, Ages 4 – 12 and take place Monday – Friday from 1-4pm.
