Pete Cromer is a favorite artist that has inspired many-a-little-budgie in the studio in recent months! We were excited to take a little of his incredible art and turn it to inspiration for a weekly class: Pete Cromer Birds
We’re super pumped to share these Pete Cromer Birds that students decoupaged on gesso coated wood! These were created with children as young as five, using colorful painted paper scraps collaged with ModPodge. We hope you enjoy these striking inspired Pete Cromer Birds as much as we did!

These are Spectacular!! I would proudly hang any one of them. Thanks for sharing, I must try this sometime.
I love every one of these! Now getting itchy fingers to try it myself. 🙂
Yeah, this is a fave! We’ve done hundreds of these @ all ages – as long as you have them keep layering, and use some black for contrast, they are a “sure thing”! WE love them on gesso’d wood. We’ve also done some need chalk pastel parakeet / cockatiel drawings inspired by the same artist, i don’t think we’ve shared those pics yet, but you can imagine 🙂
Wow!! These are fantastic. My students would love this artist and would love to paint on wood. Do you have any tips for storing the wood projects?
