In Elementary, Middle School

We’re always on the lookout for artists to inspire projects with our students!  We recently discovered the illustrations of Sarah Hennessey, and thought our 9-14 yr. old classes would love her style!  We were so right! This Sarah Hennessey Tree Towns art project was a hit.

These creative “tree towns” were designed in the style of Sarah Hennessey’s illustrations, using sharpies and watercolor pencils.  We loved the graphic black and white effect, and students chose whether to leave them black and white or add a little bit of color to the town with watercolor pencils.  Stunning effect!
