In Elementary

Looking for an oil pastel art project idea? Here’s a fun drawing project for elementary age students!  We call these “Animal Mash-Ups”!  The objective is to combine features of two different animals to create an entirely new one!  Our students used their imaginations and created some stellar animal mashups. We were very impressed and so were parents.

The detailing and creative artistry in these drawings blew us away. Artists carefully thought through which parts of each animal they wanted to keep and combine on their paper. Tails, ears, stripes, and spots were sorted through and deemed acceptable and necessary for the identification of their new animal. Then habitats were constructed and detailed. Where would their new animal live? Would it completely change animal kingdoms? The possibilities are endless!

Can you guess what these are?
